Disk Doctor: System Cleaner App Reviews

My OS is El Capitan and I have been using Disk Doctor for a couple of years. My web browser is Firefox 41.0.2 and to my surprise while cleaning the evening of Oct 22 2015, the same day Disk Doctor updated,.. the Firefox Profile disappeared and the following morning while trying to launch it I was given the error msg that it had been corrupted or deleted. I had to uninstall Firefox, reinstall and also reinstall all my add ons. At this point I was not aware it was Disk Doctor that had caused the problem until the following evening after using Disk Doctor I decided to go back online to check something and again the Profile Error !! Along with the reinstalling you have to import all your Bookmarks etc.which means unless you have all the same on Safari as you had on Firefox you lose all kinds of links ! I uninstalled Disk Doctor, having realized it was the root of the problem. I again had to go through uninstalling and installing Firefox and reinstalling all add ons, bookmarks, data etc. Disk doctor has been an app that I found excellent for cleaning, but with this update it is unusable for me and I will use CleanMyMac 2, it is slower, but it has never caused any problems. If you are using Firefox don’t touch this app with a 10 foot pole………...

All it does is clean your disk of some logs and caches. There are dozens of apps that do the same thing. Yes it’s a utility but a low-grade one. Like change the windshield fluid in your car sort of level of utility. For what it does it’s not bad. It lacks some of the fine control other apps have.

Off and ON buttons do not work -

Frankly, a bit silly for the app not to scan for the appropriate folder to use. As of now, this app is simply useless as it will not accept or identify a folder which helps the user activate the app.

This app is super easy to use! It also scans most common areas where you would have wasted space and cleans it out. The addition of cleaning iOS software updates is amazing!

Nice and simple UI. I wish that the extra languages is not auto select when the application is scanning. Each time I have to unchecked it and that is really annoying. Please uncheck the EXTRA LANGUAGES by default. A new update only support 10.7 >? How about the current users with 10.6.8??

It would be better if it can also search for useless spyware/adware on my computer though

Well comparing this App with CleanMyMac, there is no way to compare them, Unfortunatelly I bought it hoping that It will help me with deleting cahce files ! I Open disk doctor to scan my Computer and it shows around 1 GB to be deleted. Open CleanMyMac and it’s more than 5 GB !!

Great app, it really does what it says. I managed to recover a gig of space in seconds. But like the other guy said, be careful with what you clean. All in all, its a great little app, and I personally found FIPLAB support quite helpful. Keep up the good work guys!

A typical Mac app focuses on clean design and doing well what it’s intended to do. Disk Doctor does it’s job well, but the desing is awful, mainly because they put Facebook and Twitter buttons in too many locations and there’s no way to disable them. You get asked to go to those sites on the welcome screen and after every time you use it. Why? I already paid you, go take my money and do the marketing yourselves! It’s SocialWare. Like AdWare, but with developers nagging you to Tweet about their product all the time. You cleaned your disk? Tweet! This is a stupid trend and not very cool.
